What is the Personal Accident Insurance ?

This Personal Accident Insurance is offered by the organiser's insurer so that you are correctly covered during your participation in the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris. It is optional but is strongly recommended.

As you may know, the vast majority of your usual insurance policies (particularly your car insurance, insurance provided automatically through your bank cards, household insurance, bank loan insurance, etc.) totally exclude any participation in sports events either on an amateur or professional basis, and therefore exclude the risks involved in your taking part in the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris.

It is therefore important that you check the extent of the cover provided by your normal insurance policies (and the exclusions) and, if you are not sufficiently covered or not covered at all, you should consider taking out the proposed insurance policies by clicking on the link below.

This insurance will cover you if you have an accident whilst taking part in the event, whether or not you were responsible and whether or not there is an identified responsible third party. You are only covered during the event from the time you cross the starting line until the time you cross the finishing line or you abandon the event.

In the event of an accident during your participation in the event, it covers:

  • Medical costs (within the limits that you have chosen),
  • in the event of death or total or partial permanent disability (due to this accident): the payment of compensation (within the limits that you have chosen)

This cover Individual Accident is optional but highly recommended. It can be taken out in addition to any existing insurance you may already have or if you are not already covered. You may purchase the cover from the insurer of your choice, from your federation or from Aon, organizer’s broker, whose proposal (detailed notice and application form) can be consulted and downloaded by clicking on the link below. You can subscribe to the option providing the minimum cover for this offer during your registration for the event and other options by downloading the relevant form here and sending it directly to Aon (

Oh yes! Without a valid medical certificate mentioning “no counter indication to taking part in athletics competitions” or “no counter indication to taking part in running competitions”, you won't be able to run! Check out our medical certificate page on the website to be sure that yours has been provided correctly. Even better, to avoid errors, we recommend that you use our model certificate which is available here.

A copy of the medical certificate will be accepted. Your medical certificate should be made by your doctor. After examining you, he should sign a letter carrying the mention "no contra-indication to athletics in competition" or “no contra-indication to running in competition.”

The medical certificate has to be dated less than one year prior to the date of the race.

How can I upload my medical form on my time to account?

To do so, simply log in on your time to account and click on "My Account" - "My Events" then "Upload a document". Your document must be less than 3MB and in JPEG, PNG or PDF format. If your document exceeds 3MB, you will need to compress it before uploading it. Once your medical certificate has been successfully uploaded, it will appear as being "pending" for validation by our teams.

If your medical certificate has been refused or if you didn’t upload it, you will have to print and bring it at the bib collection (it must be dated less than a year prior the date of the race and have the wording «running in competition », « athletism in competition » or « sport in competition »).

When will my medical certificate be validated on my time to account?

The validation of medical certificates by the organization will start two months before the race. You will received an automatic email informing you of its validation or refusal.

What is the timing system?

All registrants will be given, along with their race number, an electronic chip (in the form of strips stuck behind each number) which will be automatically initialized at the starting line and will serve as a race regularity control at various points along the course (every 5km and at the 21st km). A competitor who does not use the roadway will not be classified at the finish.

Are there pacemakers to help me achieve my goals?

Of course there are! In each starting locker, pacemakers will be present to help you achieve your goals. They will be easily identifiable, just like the leaders in a cabaret: they will be wearing large feathers in the colors of your airlock!

After the Race

Where and when can I find my results?

Your results will be available on the site of the marathon the day of the event in the afternoon. Are there rankings?

Of course! We don't want to put you under any pressure (promise!), but it has to be said that we want you to run a good time (a little bit of pressure never did any harm)!

In particular, you can find them when you pick up your race bib, at the refreshment stations, throughout the race and at the finish line. They are there for you, so even if you are totally concentrated on your time and your stride, be nice back to them, give them a smile and thank them for their encouragement with a nod.

Can I volunteer to help out?

With pleasure! We'd be mad to refuse enthusiastic helpers - maybe you can encourage others to help too? Bring your good humour and generous nature and join our hundreds of volunteers to help make this event run smoothly.
