ADAC Velotour - enjoy The German Classic!
Every year on May 1st, the worlds best cyclists compete at The German Classic Eschborn-Frankfurt. At the ADAC Velotour you can experience the same closed roads like the pro riders will do only a few hours later. The race starts in Eschborn, than you pass the city center of Frankfurt with the spectacular skyline and several iconic climbs of the race.

Where can I get my participant bag?
Before the race at the bib pick-up.
Where can I find technical service for my bike?
It is strictly forbidden, without exception, for personal or team escort vehicles to drive within the route closure. Only escort vehicles of the organizer are permitted. Our partners ADAC and Shimano offer technical support on the route. However, please take spare material (inner tube/pump) with you. Defects or breakdowns must be signaled by raising your right hand. If it is necessary to stop, this must always be done carefully on the right-hand side of the road. The exchange of spare parts and tools between participants is permitted.
Where is the organizer's information stand?
The stand will be at the Expo in Frankfurt on 30.04. and at the Expo in Eschborn on 01.05.
Can I join my friends/colleagues in the starting block?
Only if they are in a slower starting block, further back. Lining up in a starting group that is further forward will result in disqualification.
When does the race start?

What routes are available?
This year, all three routes of the ADAC Velotour will be offered again. The ADAC Velotour Taunus Classic with 103km, the ADAC Velotour Taunus Express with 92km and the ADAC Velotour Skyline with 40km. In addition, the ADAC Velotour Ride offers leisure cyclists the unique opportunity to start in their own starting block without timekeeping on 40 closed-off kilometers.
Can I switch between distances during the race?
NO! A distance change is only possible from a longer to a shorter course, participants who are registered for a shorter course and complete the longer course will be disqualified! The route separation points are signposted. In Oberursel, participants of the ADAC Velotour Taunus Express / ADAC Velotour Taunus Classic will turn right towards Oberursel town center and Feldberg, while participants of the ADAC Velotour Skyline will go straight on towards Oberhöchstadt. After leaving Schwalbach, the ADAC Velotour Taunus Classic continues straight on over the Mammolshainer Stich, while the ADAC Velotour Taunus Express turns right and heads straight back to Eschborn.
Are there refreshment points along the route? (NOTE: NEW LOCATION IN 2025)
For the two long routes ADAC Velotour Taunus Classic and Taunus Express, there is the Logwin refreshment station at approx. km43 directly at Sandplacken on the right-hand side. If you stop here, you have the opportunity to fill your bottles and stock up on fruit, bars and gels.
There is also a waterstation powered by Eintracht Frankfurt Radsport at the entrance to Glashütten (approx. km60).
What do I do with my garbage (gels, banana peels, etc.) during the race?
As in normal road traffic, you are also obliged to dispose of your garbage properly in the garbage cans provided on the ADAC Velotour. These can be found, for example, at the refreshment station or in the start and finish area. Anyone who throws their garbage away on the route during the race will be disqualified.
What should I do in the event of a crash?
Please help your fellow riders in the event of a crash and warn other participants. As in normal road traffic, the emergency number 112 also applies on May 1st. In this context, please also state the start number of the participant who has fallen so that they can be clearly identified.
Are there broom wagons?
There are broom wagons that collect participants who are too slow or can no longer participate.
Minimum speeds*:
ADAC Velotour Taunus Classic / Taunus Express: approx. 25km/h
ADAC Velotour Skyline / Ride: approx. 20km/h
*The minimum speeds apply to the total time from start to finish and are adapted to the route profile. It is therefore possible to ride slower uphill, while a faster average speed is calculated for downhill. Relevant for the broom wagon is the time at cut-off points determined by us and not the exact average speed. We ask for your understanding and consideration for the broom wagon drivers who are doing their job on this day.
Where can I find technical support on the race track?
It is strictly forbidden, without exception, for personal or team escort vehicles to drive within the route closure. Only escort vehicles of the organizer are permitted. Our partners ADAC and Shimano offer technical support on the route. However, please take spare material (inner tube/pump) with you. Defects or breakdowns must be signaled by raising your right hand. If it is necessary to stop, this must always be done carefully on the right-hand side of the road. The exchange of spare parts and tools between participants is permitted.
Is it compulsory to wear a helmet?
Participants of the ADAC Velotour are obliged to wear a bicycle helmet with a closed chin strap. Participants without a helmet will be disqualified.
Your race - your pictures
It's so easy to find your pictures:
Make sure that your start numbers are correctly attached to your handlebars, helmet and seat post, are clearly visible and are not covered by anything.
Your pictures will be posted online on the platform www.getpica.com on the evening of the race day. You can access your personal pictures in 3 steps:
- register with your email address on the website www.getpica.com
- enter your personal PICA code. This is the alphanumeric code on your race number - e.g. AB123XY45 - you will find it next to the QR code.
- you will now be asked to take a selfie. With the help of this selfie, all those pictures can be searched and reassigned on which the start number and/or the QR code was not so easy to read and a personal assignment was previously impossible. The selfie will only be used for this search purpose at this event and will be automatically deleted once the complete assignment process has been completed.
And now you can view your photos
Around 100,000 photos are expected to be taken - on the course and at the finish. Uploading the pictures to the platform www.getpica.com will take some time. So when you first check in to the platform using your PICA code, it may be that not all the pictures are online yet. But don't worry: the other pictures will be automatically assigned to you and you will receive a message when ALL the pictures are actually online.
By registering on getpica.com and entering an alphanumeric code instead of a start number, every athlete is guaranteed privacy in accordance with the data protection regulations.
Here you can find all results of the Radklassiker – from your personal finisher time to the overall winners of past editions. Use the search function to quickly find your result or ranking.
