Our friendly ALMOST HOME B&B is in a large English Tudor style home, situated in the quiet neighbourhood of NE Winnipeg. A well-appointed living room, or the year round sun room, awaits you for relaxed reading. The family room’s wood fireplace is a fun place to cozy up and watch TV/movies, or to sample our large and varied CD collection. Breakfast is available in the formal dining room, or out on the expansive poolside deck. The "West Wing"(queen-size) is tastefully decorated and includes a wide variety of novels and magazines. The "South Side" has two cozy super-single beds. Downtown is 15 minutes away by public transit. Manitoba’s biggest shopping/casino area is only minutes away by car. We have ready access to MB’s finest golf courses (private/public), beaches, historic sites (lower Fort Garry), many parks, and activities ranging from horse-back riding to lawn bowling, from paddle boats to power walking trails along Bunn’s Creek, and cross-country skiing. Entertainment features include the historical "FORKS" with superb dining & shopping, professional Goldeye baseball and Blue Bomber football, Rainbow Stage musicals, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Prairie Theatre Exchange, and the world famous Royal Winnipeg Ballet. However, you may just forego all the above simply to relax and feel ALMOST HOMEwith Val and Bob !

Your private bathroom with jacuzzi and shower is adjacent to your room. Guest towels are in the bedroom closet and personal bath items are in the bathroom. Breakfast is served in the dining room or poolside on the deck, as you prefer. The pool season usually extends from June through the September long weekend. For your safety, (and the pool’s) we use plastic ware only poolside. We keep the front door locked at all times so remember the key; the last one home sets the night bolt. Remember to keep valuables with you, they are covered by your insurance. Payment balance is due on arrival, by card, cash, or travellers’ check. Bus schedules and restaurant menus are in the desk drawer. Tour information and brochures are on the West Wing window seat. Please leave the brochures for the next guest. Could you collect things to pass along to others when you are sight-seeing? Sharing is what B & B is all about. Family restaurants such as Montana’s, Kelsey’s, Smitty’s, Perkins, The Olive Garden, Applebee’s, Moxies, Red Lobster, and Brannigans are all near by. The Grace Café, Empress of China (no MSG), and Pine Ridge Hollow are charming places. Fine dining at La Vieille Gare is excellent. All of these are within 5 to 15 minutes by car. There are many ATM’s and banks on Henderson Highway.
