Local Information
A spectacular 20 minutes drive over the hills offers you Lake Trasimeno, Italy's fourth largest lake. The Cuiano agritourist farm is an excellent starting point for visits to Umbria and Tuscany: in one hour by car you can reach beautiful towns that will satisfy your spirit with art and religion as well as your body with a wide selection of eno-gastronomic products, not to mention the unequalled landscapes you’ll see. For example in Umbria there is Assisi, Perugia, Spello, Foligno, Gubbio, Città di Castello and Trasimeno lake; in Tuscany you can visit Cortona, Arezzo, Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano. Other interesting towns that are a little farther are Spoleto, San Giminiano and Montalcino. Upon request, we can arrange for a guide to help you fully appreciate the beauty of these special places. All around Cuiano you can find beautiful paths for pleasant walks or a ride on horseback. The paths can take you to crystal-clear streams, olive groves, chestnut and oak woods, ancient ruined castles, 12th-century churches, view points toward hidden valleys and Trasimeno lake.

Cortona, Italy sits high in the Tuscany hills overlooking a stunning valley landscape. Located about 50 miles from Florence, Cortona is rich in the history that has defined so many medieval hill towns of the region. Giacomo Lauro, in one of the first guide books which was published in 1639, wrote \"Cortona has a picturesque aspect, quite a bit longer than wide, turned toward the midday sun. Her district is fertile and is abundant with all that is necessary to human life.\" Nearly 400 years later, the town\'s features remain alluring to those who are looking for a quintessential \"hill town\" experience. Cortona\'s museums and galleries, restaurants overlooking the valley below, and narrow cobbled streets lined with shops and boutiques offer the perfect Tuscany vacation.
