Chocolate, clocks, banking and mountains everywhere. If this is your idea of Switzerland then you're almost right, except this landlocked country offers so much more besides the obvious cliches, though it isn't cheap. Neither a full member of the EU, NATO or UN, the Swiss have survived for the past 800 years, since unifying the various Cantons to gain independence form the Hapsburg empire, on traditional, somewhat conservative values. Apparently the safest place to keep your money, Switzerland has a reputation for environmental cleanliness, pragmatic people and a picture perfect country proudly preserved by its agreeable citizens.
