One of the prettiest and more undulating areas of German is Bavaria, at the foot of the Alps. Three castles built near Füssen; Neuschwanstein (which inspired Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle), Hohenschwanstein and Linderhof are plastered on tourist posters of Bavaria the World over. The town itself contains a tangle of lanes filled with historical buildings. Check out the Hohe Schloss. There are excellent views from the top of Tegelbergbahn, reached by cable car. But the best treat is a lazy drive through the fairy-tale landscape, including pretty Lake Constance and the Black Forest. Some of Germany's best hiking and biking trails are found here, reflecting the country's obsession with healthy outdoor living. BackAdd to your Save For Later
